An experienced IT Contractor is required to join our client’s team based in Knowsley for an initial 6 month contract. This role involves delivering critical on-site and field support services, including deskside software support, break/fix services, and device management. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing IT operations, contributing to various projects, and ensuring high standards of service delivery across multiple locations.
 
Role Overview:
The IT Contractor will be responsible for providing comprehensive IT support, covering a range of technologies from end-user computing to video conferencing devices. The role requires hands-on technical expertise, particularly in software support, hardware troubleshooting, and systems management. This position demands a proactive approach to problem-solving, ensuring all service level agreements (SLAs) are exceeded, and that the IT environment remains stable and secure.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide deskside software support and manage warranty and non-warranty break/fix issues.
  • Execute Install, Move, Add, Change, Disposal (IMACD) tasks effectively.
  • Support a range of devices including end-user computing, printing, mobile, and video conferencing technologies.
  • Assist with TCP/IP routing and switching basics and manage Windows OS up to the latest version.
  • Facilitate PC imaging processes using Intune AutoPilot.
  • Manage user accounts within Active Directory and Azure AD.
  • Contribute to IT projects from concept through to completion, ensuring technical solutions meet business needs.
  • Provide priority IT incident response and ensure all requests are resolved within SLA targets.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation and manage UK asset tracking, deployment, and recovery.
  • Assist in system upgrade projects, including planning and communicating with IT and non-technical teams.
  • Perform IT-related onboarding and offboarding tasks for employees.
  • Obtain quotes for hardware and services, raising Purchase Requests as needed.
 
 
Experience & Skills Required:
  • Proficiency in TCP/IP routing/switching basics.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows OS up to the latest version.
  • Experience with PC imaging processes, especially using Intune AutoPilot.
  • Competence in managing users in Active Directory and Azure AD.
  • Relevant technical qualifications or demonstrable experience in IT hardware and software troubleshooting.
  • Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Full driving licence and own car preferred.

Salary:                        Competitive Day Rate c£250 Per Day
Location:                    Knowsley, with occasional travel to remote offices within a 2-hour drive.
