The Estimator will take a lead role in managing flat roofing tenders, from initial enquiry through to pricing, securing the project, and handing it over to the internal team. The successful candidate will ensure precise and competitive estimates that comply with safety and insurance standards. Experience in flat roofing estimation is essential, but further training will be provided to enhance skills within this specialist area.

This well-established contractor is experiencing remarkable growth, and this role offers an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team working on significant flat roofing projects across the country.

Package: Negotiable depending on experience + Benefits (Health Insurance, Pension Scheme, Performance Bonuses).
Location: Hybrid role – Yorkshire Office (2/3 Days) and onsite/home (2/3 Days).


Role Overview:
The Estimator will be responsible for the full cycle of tender management, focusing solely on flat roofing projects. This role involves measuring drawings, preparing accurate estimates, and liaising with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing. The Estimator will also collaborate with internal teams and clients to secure and deliver high-quality bids, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage tenders from receipt to submission, focusing exclusively on flat roofing projects.
  • Review enquiry documents to assess risks and opportunities specific to flat roofing.
  • Accurately measure roofing plans and prepare estimates using in-house software.
  • Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to gather competitive quotes.
  • Ensure all estimates comply with the Building Safety Act and insurance requirements.
  • Prepare and present tender submissions, attending pre- and post-tender meetings.
  • Ensure time management to meet all deadlines.
  • Communicate with clients on tender progress and negotiations.
  • Conduct site visits and issue subcontract packages for flat roofing projects.
  • Maintain organised document control and data management for tenders.
Experience & Skills Required:
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs, including Maths and English.
  • At least 3 years of estimating experience in flat roofing within the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and numerical skills.
  • Understanding of fire safety regulations, including the Building Safety Act.
  • Desirable: Familiarity with JCT contracts and project risk management.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Level 3 NVQ in Construction Contracting Operations.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project and Bluebeam Revu software.
  • Previous experience with SharePoint.
