The Area Sales Manager working for this leading lighting solutions business will play a pivotal role in driving business growth by building strong relationships with M&E contractors, consultants, and specifiers across the London region. This role involves managing customer accounts within Central London, as well as fostering new opportunities in the surrounding areas. 
This is a target-driven role requiring expertise in specification sales and project management within the Lighting and Controls sector. The Area Sales Manager will focus on developing client specifications, guiding projects through to completion, and achieving sales objectives within the designated territory. This position is ideal for a self-starter with experience in managing the full commercial cycle and a proven track record of delivering results.
 
Role Overview
  • Develop and manage Electrical Consultant specifications, taking projects from inception through to securing orders with Electrical Contractors.
  • Achieve and exceed sales targets within the London territory.
  • Identify and capitalise on strategic opportunities across the commercial, education, and healthcare sectors.
  • Conduct presentations to introduce new products and provide updates on regulatory changes.
  • Progress leads from various channels to generate new business.
  • Create and present sales forecasts during team meetings.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of activities using the EMS system.
  • Collaborate with the wider sales team, contributing to shared initiatives and goals..
 
Experience & Skills Required
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:
  • Proven experience in specification sales, particularly with M&E contractors, consultants, and specifiers.
  • Strong background in the Lighting, electrical, Controls or mechanical industry.
  • Self-motivated, with energy, enthusiasm, and a proactive approach.
  • Demonstrates a positive, target-driven attitude and a commitment to achieving results.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to influence key stakeholders.
  • Technically proficient, with qualifications in electrical or mechanical disciplines (or equivalent aptitude).
  • Highly proficient in IT systems and social media platforms.
  • Possession of a valid driving licence and access to a personal vehicle
